cUSTOMER UPDATES - COVID 19

May 1, 2021

ONLINE RESOURCES - Restaurant Revitalization Fund
The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has just posted three new resources for restaurant owners completing grant applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF).
*An updated FAQ document, reflecting the latest guidance received from the SBA.
*A new step-by-step guide to completing an RRF grant application.
*An archive of past webinars we have held with the SBA on the RRF.
The NRA hosted the SBA Administrator and the President of the Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance for a discussion on how the 21-day priority period works for restaurant owners from economically and socially disadvantaged communities.

Remember, the application portal on SBA’s RRF site goes live this Monday, May 3, at 12:00 EST.  Even if you do not qualify for the 21-day priority period, you should submit your grant application as early as possible.

Dear Valued Customers,
Nation-wide egg shortage means extreme prices. The shortage is being attributed to a surge in retail sales. We anticipate this to continue as demand for ‘in-home’ use remains high with the ‘shelter in place’ mandate.
We will continue to monitor and keep you informed with any market changes.

March 18th, 2020

Dear Valued Customers,

Throughout the last few unsettling days, we here at Pacific Produce have been in awe at how our food community has come together.   Many of you are providing meals in hospitals and long-term care faculties as well as to the homeless or senior populations, while others are providing ‘to-go’ meals with a side of healthy optimism for the general population.

We are committed to riding this out with you and to help you continue to feed our community we will be offering deliveries to your sites on Tuesdays-Thursdays-Saturdays.  In addition, our warehouse will remain open for will call, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to noon.

Please rest assured we will return to our regular hours and 7 day a week delivery schedule once we have all returned to ‘business as usual’.

All of us at Pacific Produce want to thank you for your continued service to our hard-hit community and recall the words of Cesar Chavez, " if you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him…the people who give you their food give you their heart."   We are humbled to play a small part in helping feed our extended Bay Area family.

From all of us at Pacific Produce

March 2nd, 2020

At Pacific Produce, the health and wellness of our customers and employees is our top priority.

With the uncertainty of the COVID-19 outbreak on everyone’s mind, we wanted to update you with some of the proactive and preventative measures we’re taking to protect against exposure to all airborne illnesses’ within our warehouse. While our regular HACCP safety protocols provide the best defense against the spread of most contagious illnesses, we’ve adopted additional measures to elevate our food safety program.

This weekend we completed a comprehensive food safety retraining with each employee.  This training included the following protocols:

1. Wash your hands frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.

2. Wear gloves when in direct contact with Produce.
You must wear gloves anytime you have direct contact with exposed produce.

3. Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 3 feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

4. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

5. Practice respiratory hygiene
Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

6. If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority.
Should you have any questions, please contact your sales representative or customer service at 650-583-8396.
